THE SPELL OF THE CAPITAL: KINGSTON

English is the official language, however most people speak patois (a combination of English and languages of African origin). As a matter of fact, Kingston is the largest English-speaking city south of Miami.

Known as the "Cultural Capital of the Caribbean", Kingston is the world’s seventh largest natural port. Due to it’s strategic location between North and South America its Conference Center a favorite destination for business meetings.

Along the hillsides of the Blue Mountain Range there is a dynamic, cosmopolitan atmosphere where the old and the new, the tamed and the untamable, eternal and latest in high fashion mingle as one. You can join fashionable people at the National dance Theatre for and open-air performance, admire famous folk singers, visit the treasures of the National Art Gallery, wonder through the Fortress of Pirate Henry Morgan, and visit the Bob Marley Museum, a tribute to Jamaica’s late father of reggae.

THE PLEASURES OF MONTEGO BAY

Doctor’s Cave, one of the islands best natural beaches is a great place to start your journey north: with it’s rolling golf courses, all types of swimming pools, narrow streets, and the crystal clear ocean that brings its aqua colors together on white sand beaches.

Street Montego Bay- or Mo Bay, as the locals refer to it, is a seasoned traveler’s paradise. You can get that golden tan you have always wanted or perhaps have your hair braided in Mobay’s Harbor.

Be sure to take a tour on the Appleton Express Train, it was once used to transport government officials; now it has been refurbished for a 40 mile journey into the heart of the island. The Appleton Rum distillery, the fascinating caves of Ipswich are among the must stops. Also, there are two stops where you can made to order hand made cloths. On the first stop you can select the style and materials and the second stop which is on the way back you can pick-up your finished product.

In the center of the city you can visit The Cage, a prison dating back to the XVIII century for slaves and fugitive sailors: the beautiful Parrish of St. James and the Great House.

A little farther inland the Hilton High Day Tour is a definite must. The tour gives you a view of county life along with a hot air balloon trip and a look at a different side of Jamaica in the Cockpit Country.

THE LEGEND AND BEAUTY OF NEGRIL

Traveling westwards along the northern Jamaica coast, Negrl which is surrounded by white sand beaches was a favorite, unconventional hippy refuge during the 1970’s. It has now become a paradise for tourist with many hotels to choose from. In Negril buildings ranging from hostels to luxurious resorts with night time entertainment can only reach the height of the tallest palm tree in the area.

With 10KM of white sand beaches which until recently were kept as the island best secrets: is an oasis of tranquility long way from the pressures of modern life. The crystal clear waters invite you to take a swim with its infinite variety of varieties of tropical fish and admire a romantic sunset.

OCHO RIOS AND ITS BEAUTIFUL LANDSCAPES

Dunn’s River Falls, which falls from a height of 183 meters is one of the many sites in this impressive north-eastern regions. Here you can climb on the rocky surface or enjoy a swim in one of fresh water lagoons.

The Coyaba River Garden and Museum is on private property and is adorned with abundant pools with fish and waterfalls.

Harmony Hall is a carefully-restored nineteenth-century mansion features one of the best art and handicrafts galleries. It is and ideal location to purchase souvenirs of your visit.

PORT ANTONIO, PARADISE OF THE STARS

Bette Davis, Ginger Rogers and Errol Flynn, who christened it "more beautiful than any woman I have ever seen" once had this area as one of their best kept secrets. There is a legend of a dreamer who once built a castle here for his lover using sea water in the cement. Now, the castle and the young woman have disappeared leaving only the legendary ruins, appropriately called the "Folly". Orchids, ferns, banana and palm trees grow alongside the road that runs by this quite town.

Lovers of water sports and the ocean can choose between an ice-cold shower at the Somerset Falls, snorkeling and scuba diving in the Blue Lagoon. You can also enjoy a trip on a raft or join the fun at the Blue Lagoon Celebrity and Beach Party, which is held twice a week.

THE MOUNTAINS: MANDEVILLE

Named after the Count of Mandeville, the area has somewhat of a British feel and is an example of traditional English architecture. It is a quite, peaceful area with a cool, mild climate which offers a change of pace to your vacation with a variety of landscapes and places to camp.
