How are tourists treated?
Dominicans are very friendly and always treat tourists well. It is advisable to take some precautions outside the hotel if you do not know the area, as there is a risk of finding yourself in a dangerous situation, as can occur in many other places.
Where is the hotel located?
The hotel is located on the Arena Gorda-Macao highway in the province of La Altagracia in Bavaro. It is 60 minutes away by car from the town of Higüey. The resort complex is located 20 kilometers from Punta Cana International Airport and 70 kilometers from La Romana Airport.
What is the best means of transport to move around the area?
There are three trains within the complex linking the resort's most important areas, which run from 7.00 AM to 3.00 AM. They pass every 10 minutes. It is advisable to book a taxi at reception if you want to go outside the hotel, as not all taxi drivers have a license to carry passengers.
Is it dangerous to travel alone?
It is not especially dangerous. However, going with somebody who knows the area is always advisable, as is taking the relevant precautions.

The hotel is about an hour from Higüey, a city that has grown due to the tourism in Bavaro and Punta Cana.

The climate is tropical. Average annual temperature ranges from 18º to 20° Celsius. As it is on an island, humidity is rather high.

Rainfall varies depending on the season. Rainfall during the summer is not common. However, it tends to rain frequently during other seasons, especially in winter. However, rain is scarce in the Bavaro area.
When is the tropical storm season?
From May to September, though there are some oscillations depending on the year. There is only a risk if the storm turns into a hurricane, though the hotel is perfectly prepared to deal with hurricanes.

In summer the sun rises at around 5.30 AM and it sets at 7.30 PM. In winter, however, the sun rises at 6.30 AM and sets at 6.00 PM.
