Is the a doctor in the complex?
There is a doctor's surgery in the resort complex. Consultations are to the account of guests.

Can medicines be bought near the hotel?
Basic medicines can be bought in the hotel itself. There is a fully stocked drugstore around 15 minutes away in Plaza Bavaro.

Is the resort complex adapted for the disabled?
The hotel is equipped with ramps to facilitate the disabled access to restaurants and other areas. In addition, some of the rooms are specially adapted for the disabled.

Do I need to vaccinate myself against any illnesses before traveling?
You do not need any vaccinations to travel to the Dominican Republic. However, it is advisable to follow the recommendations issued by the authorities in this matter.

Can I suffer any kind of food or water poisoning?
There is no sort of danger within the hotel's grounds. There is the possibility of some danger outside if you eat or have a drink in places that to not follow the basic rules of hygiene.

Is there anything I will not find in the hotel?
All kinds of basic products and local souvenirs can be found in both the hotel as well as in the resort to ensure your stay at the hotel is as pleasant as possible.

What kind of clothing should I bring?
Generally speaking, summer clothes to enjoy the beach and the swimming pools. As a precaution, it is worth bringing along some spring/autumn clothing for the evenings.

What type of sunscreen should I bring?
Normally, if you use a protection factor 40 sunscreen from the start, you should not have any problems.. A protection factor of 60 is recommended for children.

How do people live there?
Being a developing country, the standard of living is not very high. This, however, does not mean that the quality of life is very low.  As a matter of fact, average life expectancy is of 70 years and there is a person who is 118 years old and is still self sufficient.

What are the typical customs?
Dominicans love partying and music, and not necessarily in that order. Rice, the basis of their diet, and bananas are eaten from a very young age in a wide variety of recipes. The typical dish, however, is “Sancocho”, a soup not unlike a stew, that is derived from the customs the Spanish colonialists brought with them to the area, as the natives were not accustomed to eating soups and stews.
The most important festivals, such as the Latin Music Festival (in June) or the Merengue Festival (in July and August), are held in Santo Domingo, the country's capital, which also hosts one of the most spectacular Carnivals. Carnival is a very popular event held throughout the country at the end of February. Spectacular devil's masks can be seen in any Dominican town. The Cocolo dance theater, a tradition of African origin that can be traced back to the slaves who fled from British colonies and found refuge in these lands, can be seen during the festivities of San Pedro de Marcoris, where Carnival, the feast day of St. Peter and Christmas are spectacular events. The show has been declared an Intangible World Heritage by UNESCO.

An entertainment manager is in charge of organizing different children's activities, although there is no entertainment exclusively dedicated to children.

Are there any baby-sitters in the resort complex?
Yes, they are. This service is offered with a surcharge.

Is it dangerous for children to walk around the resort alone?
No, it s not dangerous for children to walk around the resort complex alone. However, it is always advisable to keep them under the supervision of an adult.

How many children's swimming pools are there?
There is a children's swimming pool in the middle of the resort complex.

Is traveling with a baby a problem?
The hotel is equipped with the appropriate services for people traveling with babies.

My baby is still eating baby food. Is this kind of food served in the restaurant?

What is the climate in Samana like?
Warm and rather humid practically all the year round. The average temperature tends to be around 25º C

Does it rain a lot?
As is usual in a tropical climate, it tends to rain a lot, though the rain showers are brief. It is normal for the sun to come out and for it to rain several times during the same day.

When is the tropical storm season?
From May to November, though storms in this area are not dangerous. The hotel is equipped with highly efficient protection plans for extreme cases, such as the unlikely occurrence of a hurricane.

What time does the sun rise and what time does it set?
It depends on the season. The sun rises between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Similarly, the sun sets between 6.00 PM and 8.00 PM.
